4 in hand

Starting order and result lists for indoor four-in-hand driving (FEI Driving World Cup): the four horses with their positions, carriage numbers, grooms, round 1 and drive-off. Also fills in FEI's result file (Excel).

  1. Open your show in app.equipe.com.
  2. Go to Settings and choose the Extensions tab.

  4. Save. Its buttons show up in the Extensions menu of the show.

What it does

4 in hand prints the starting order and the official result for indoor four-in-hand driving, such as a leg of the FEI Driving World Cup™ (one competition with drive-off). For each driver the list shows the four horses with their positions in the four-in-hand, the carriage number, the grooms, round 1 and the drive-off with time and penalties, the ranking and the prize money. It also fills in FEI's result file (Excel) for the competition.

The official result for A02, with the Check in Equipe box above it.

Before you start

Equipe has one horse per start, but a four-in-hand has four. Each competition is therefore set up as two classes, joined on the driver:

  • Result class (e.g. A02): one start per driver. The horse can be a placeholder such as "4 in hand". Run it as a jumping class with the rounds First Round and Drive-Off, faults converted to time. It gives the starting order, ranking, times, penalties, prize money and ground jury. The start number is printed as CNo.
  • Team class (e.g. A02:T): tick Team in the class properties and set Max starts per team to 4 (5 with a reserve horse). One team per driver, with the driver and each of the horses as team members. Give the team class the same number as the result class followed by :T and 4 in hand finds it by itself.

Add four custom fields under Show settings → Custom fields, type String. The key must be exactly as below; the name is up to you.

  • hno on the horse: the horse code, such as 1A. The number is the carriage, so 1A is printed under Carriage 01.
  • pos on the horse: the position in the four-in-hand, LL, RL, LW or RW (left and right leader, left and right wheeler). Leave it empty for the reserve horse.
  • groom1 and groom2 on the person: the driver's grooms.

On the result class, also fill in:

  • Prize money, such as 5900, 4450, 3450, 3200, 2700, 2450.
  • Officials: Ground Jury President and Ground Jury. They are printed under the result with a line for signatures.
  • Where and when: date, time and Arena. The arena chooses the FEI Driving World Cup™ logo of the leg, top right on the list. The show's own logo goes top left.

For FEI's result file the drivers and horses need their FEI IDs in Equipe, which they get when the entries are imported from FEI.

How to use it

  1. Install 4 in hand on the show under Show settings → Extensions.
  2. Open the start list of the result class (or the team class) and choose Extensions → 4 in hand.
Extensions → 4 in hand on the start list of the result class.
  1. Check the classes in the two drop-downs and choose Starting order, Result or Both.
  2. Read the box Check in Equipe. It lists horses without position, drivers without grooms and drivers without a team. A horse without position is printed with a red ? so it is easy to spot. The box is never printed.
  3. Print (A4, 100 % scale) or Download PDF.
  4. FEI results (Excel) gives FEI's result file for the competition: one row per driver with the FEI IDs, the four horses, round 1 and drive-off (net time and penalties), ranking and prize money. Send it to the FEI Driving department.

The full setup guide, with examples of every field, opens with the Setup guide button on the list.

World Cup logos

The FEI Driving World Cup™ logos are kept by Showoffice, one per leg. If the list shows "No World Cup logo for …", send the leg's logo to Showoffice and it is added.

Your data

4 in hand only reads from Equipe and never changes anything. The list is made when you open it and nothing is stored afterwards. For your security the ticket from Equipe is not kept in the address, so after a reload you open the list again from Equipe.

Extensions not made by Equipe are built and run by their developers. We review each one before it is listed here, but we are not responsible for how it works, what it does with your show's data or any loss it causes. Adding one to a show is your choice, under our Extension terms.
